SpeakAndRecord is a collection of free, browser-based audio tools designed for anyone who needs to record, transcribe, or edit audio without installing software or signing up for an account. All eight tools run entirely client-side using modern Web APIs: MediaRecorder, Web Audio API, Web Speech API, and getDisplayMedia.
The voice recorder captures high-quality audio directly from your microphone, displays a real-time waveform, and offers live transcription in over 25 languages. The audio cutter lets you trim any audio file by selecting a region on the waveform and downloading the clip as a lossless WAV. The audio merger concatenates multiple files in any order you choose. The screen recorder captures your display with optional microphone mix for creating tutorials and demos.
For transcription, SpeakAndRecord offers three entry points: live speech-to-text that converts your spoken words as you speak, audio-to-text that plays back any uploaded file and transcribes its content, and voice notes that combines recording with automatic transcription and a searchable, persistent library in your browser's localStorage.
Every tool is optimised for privacy. Unlike cloud-based services, nothing is uploaded to a server. Your audio data, transcripts, and notes stay on your device at all times. You can verify this by opening your browser's network panel — you'll see zero outbound audio data during any recording or transcription session.
